Kim Kardashian‘s branding and image appears to have taken a hit after her quickie wedding fell apart. The reality star was reportedly replaced from a Skechers superbowl ad campaign and replaced with a dog. Skechers claims they didn’t drop Kim K because of the backlash against the reality star. Ouch…
Brandy’s Message to Kim Kardashian
Last year, the ubiquitous reality star featured in a sexy ad for Skechers that had more allusions to her infamous sex tape than football or shoes. This year, Skechers is featuring a dog in their Super Bowl spot. While Kim’s ad saw her holding tight to a man, wriggling, posing, teasing and then showing off a sneaker, the company will have a tiny dog with shoes on racing a pack of greyhounds.
Quite different, indeed. But Leonard Armato, an exec with Skechers, told USA Today that it’s less to do with Kim’s bad recent publicity than their decision to promote a high-tech shoe, whatever that may be.
“Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed,” he said. “We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company.” [via]
Brandy sent a message to Kim Kardashian during her appearance on the Wendy Williams show. Brandy sent her love and support to Kim and dismissed rumors that the pair were no longer BFF’s after Kim K made her fortune from the Ray J sex tape. Brandy is promoting her role on the BET series “The Game” that returns with a new season.
