Oscar De La Hoya made a series of confessions during an exclusive interview with Spanish language channel Univision. The former boxing champion admitted to suffering from alcoholism, drug abuse and to committing numerous infidelities with other women during his marriage. Oscar wants his marriage to work and is seeking therapy so that he can remain married to his wife who he calls “the love of his life”.

Oscar says he doesn’t want to lie anymore and it is him in the pictures but he was drinking and on drugs when they were taken. There are reports that Oscar De La Hoya paid his former lover 20 million dollars to make the embarrassing photos disappear.

BOXING legend Oscar De La Hoya shelled out a whopping $20 million to keep a model quiet over a photo shoot that saw the “Golden Boy” dressed in high heels, fishnet stockings and frilly lingerie, the New York Post reported today, citing sources.
The newspaper published the drag photos of De La Hoya frolicking with Siberian knockout Milana Dravnel on November 15, 2007, following which the boxer insisted that the pictures were frauds.
De La Hoya, 38, finally admitted the truth in a remarkable Spanish-language interview with Univision on Tuesday, which also saw the fighter say that he contemplated suicide while battling alcohol and drug addictions.
“Let me to tell you, yes, yes, it was me [in those pictures],” he said. “I am tired now of lying, of lying to the public and of lying to myself.”
De La Hoya said he was high on booze and cocaine when the racy photos were snapped.
After De La Hoya launched a campaign to discredit the wild images, Dravnel filed a federal lawsuit against him, claiming that his handlers duped her into agreeing that the photos were manipulated.
They settled the lawsuit out of court, and both sides clammed up, citing a confidentiality agreement.
But courthouse sources confirmed Wednesday that De La Hoya paid $20 million to buy her silence. The deal also called for her to give back the heels, lingerie and fishnets that she kept after their kinky photo session. [via]
Oscar de La Hoya told the reporter during his interview that he began drinking at nine and cocaine became his drug of choice before he went to seek help at a Malibu treatment center. De La Hoya is now a boxing promoter and claims he has been sober for 3 months but suffered from suicidal thoughts.
